Reduce Inflammation With These Key Foods

Inflammation. It’s not just for health headlines. It’s a fact and its quite common.

Scientists are measuring levels of inflammation in our bodies and finding that it can be pretty bad for our health; this is especially true when it's chronic (i.e. lasts a long time).

Inflammation has been linked to obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer's, and diabetes, just to name a few.

But, instead of writing all about what it is, how it's measured, and where it comes from; as we have discussed those topics in other blog posts and I have a few more to come out shortly, Today I am going to focus on some foods packed with anti-inflammatory antioxidants that are proven to help reduce it.

Here are my top anti-inflammatory food recommendations:

One of my favorite things is tea- and when you can mix health benefits with an amazing flavor, you can't go wrong. This particular tea is nice for soothing upset tummies, reducing bloating, indigestion and when you are feeling under the weather.

We see smoothies everywhere now! In mall food courts, airports and trendy neighborhoods. I am happy to see that they have become so common, and even thought I don't think they are just a health trend, doesn't mean that ALL smoothies are healthy either.

If you have included smoothies into your day to boost your energy, help with weight loss, for a quick breakfast or to increase your fruits and veggies in your diet then GOOD FOR YOU!

But... we can be hurting our weight loss progress and ruining our energy levels if we don't make smoothies with the right formula.

In general, we toss in a bunch of ingredients, whatever tastes good and hit 'blend' until creamy, then we are good to go, right?

In theory, that's all there really is to a smoothie, but we can make them healthier with a few tweaks.
