Warm Apple Spice Oatmeal (Overnight Recipe)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups steel-cut oats

  • 3 cups unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 apples, diced

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional)

  • 1/4 cup raisins or chopped dates (optional)

  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Add steel-cut oats, almond milk, water, apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, maple syrup (if using), and a pinch of salt to the crockpot.

  2. Stir well to combine.

  3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or overnight, until the oats are tender and creamy.

  4. Stir in raisins or dates and top with chopped walnuts or pecans before serving, if desired.
