You Don't Have Time To Eat Healthy? I Have A Solution!

YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO EAT HEALTHY? I HAVE A SOLUTION!

I grew up eating very healthy with my family- typically a meat, veggies and potatoes on the dinner table each evening. Not many sweets except for home baked desserts.

But then, I grew up, started to work long hours, travel, be a student, get a new job, and healthy eating was never a priority and if it was, I was too busy, didn't have access to the healthy foods I should be eating or didn't have time (or was too lazy) to prepare healthy meals every day.

My health suffered, and my tummy suffered. I had terrible stomach pain, and had to take a long time to heal, recharge my batteries and my health.

Today- I am feeling great! And much of that improvement is from Juicing. Juicing is a fantastic way of getting tons of fruits and veggies into your diet. You can toss in such a variety of foods, drink it up and be good to go for the rest of the day. My husband and I included this habit in our day quite a few years ago now- and it has made such a difference to my tummy troubles.

A Sugar Free Halloween? Yes! It's Possible!

Its that time of year- children are picking out their Halloween costumes and getting ready to paint their faces and score some treats from their neighbors.

I remember painting, creating, and thinking about my costumes long and hard. Its such a fun time of year, and such a great activity to get those little creative minds working.

One thing that I can't get over- in every store- is the wall to wall shelves of candy! Its everywhere, in grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores and everywhere you turn. In this day and age, we KNOW sugar is bad for us, so why do we do it to ourselves? Well, its fun, its colorful, it tastes great, and.... its tradition. Halloween is the time of year when you score as much candy as you possibly can, right?

Beat The Bloat

Beat the Bloat

Did you eat too much? Full tummy? Bloated? Pants too tight after the big meal? Its no fun when you feel sick or bloated after you eat. It can ruin the mood, and send you home to bed early.

I have went through this, and I know how you feel. Its frustrating and awful to feel sick and bloated. UUgh. You don't have to suffer from tummy pain, or feeling like your pants are too tight.

Here are a few simple tips to lighten the load during and after a big meal.

When you sit down to eat, try these tips:

  1. Have small sips of water with your food instead of big glasses full. If you drink a couple big glasses of water/ juice/ pop, it dilutes your digestive juices in your tummy, and then takes longer for your body to digest. Try this during your next big meal, it really works!

Clean Eating vs. Calorie Counting - What's the Difference?

Clean Eating vs. Calorie Counting - What's the Difference?

CLEAN EATING VS. CALORIE COUNTING - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Eating healthy is one of the simplest things you can do for yourself BUT due to all the crazy diets, the celebrity fads, the online weight loss success stories, it can feel very difficult. It doesn't have to! I'm hear to clear things up and make it simple.

Eating healthy has two main teams:

Clean Eating vs. Calorie Counting

Let's discuss each and decide what is the better approach for you.

Clean eating- this approach to healthy eating is about incorporating whole foods into your day. Whole foods are vegetables, fruits, whole grains and anything that has not been packaged in a box, container or processed in a factory. Eating these non-processed foods is considered clean eating because you are not absorbing chemicals, additives and preservatives that come with processing. Clean eating is eating foods in their most natural form.
