Managing Energy with Chronic Illness - Podcast
I’m excited to share this conversation I had with Autumn Carter on her Wellness in Every Season Podcast. We talked about something I know many people can relate to: managing your energy when your health doesn’t always cooperate.
When you’re living with chronic illness, pain, injury, fatigue, or other health challenges, your energy can change from one day to the next. What worked for you in your 20s or 30s may not work the same way today, and that doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. Sometimes we need to learn how to listen to our bodies, adjust our expectations, and find new ways to support ourselves.
In this episode, I share some of my own health journey and how it led me back to the Four Pillars of Health: Nourishment, Movement, Sleep, and Mindset & Stress Management. We talk about how these four areas are connected, why pushing through isn’t always the answer, and how focusing on the pillar that needs the most attention can create a positive ripple effect throughout your health.
If you’ve been feeling tired, stuck, or frustrated that your old routines aren’t working anymore, take some time to listen to this conversation. You may find a few simple ideas that can help you start working with your body instead of constantly fighting against it. I hope you enjoy it!
IN THIS PODCAST EPISODE, YOU’LL LEARN:
Why your energy levels can change as your body, hormones, health, and circumstances change.
How the Four Pillars of Health, Nourishment, Movement, Sleep, and Mindset & Stress Management work together.
Why pushing through fatigue, pain, or other symptoms can sometimes make things worse.
How poor sleep can affect your nutrition, movement, stress levels, and overall energy.
Why movement doesn’t have to look the same as it did in the past to still support your health.
How to recognize the signals your body may be giving you before you reach a flare-up or burnout.
Why stress can affect every other area of your health.
A simple four pillar self-assessment to identify which area needs the most attention right now.
Why you don’t need to overhaul your entire lifestyle at once, sometimes one small change is the best place to start.
At the end of the podcast, I talk about my Four Pillars of Health Quiz. It’s a simple way to check in with yourself and identify where you may need the most support right now.
