Create a Workout Routine You Can Easily Stick With All Year Long

As we head into the New Year, it’s a time for new new beginnings, fresh starts, and setting goals. And this year, I want us all to have goals we can stick with not only for January- but for the whole year ahead.

If you are someone who goes into a new year with the best of intentions for your fitness, and health in general, but yet something falls short, you are going to find todays blog helpful.

Sometimes the fault lies in creating goals that are so long-term it's hard to see changes. To fuel our motivation, we need small wins along the way to keep us moving forward. Instead of focusing on long-term ideas, the best way to get unstuck is by looking to the short-term.

If one of your goals for the new year is to get more exercise, or add in some more regular movement to your day, you will need to start planning your workout routine. But let's be honest, how many times have you started a workout routine only to give up a few weeks later?

If you're tired of starting and stopping your workout routine, let's change that this year. With these simple strategies, you'll be well on your way to a workout routine you'll love, so you can stick with it all year long.

Here are some fitness tips to help you get to where you're going in a more realistic and fulfilling way.

The 5 Key Mindset Shifts To Help You Stick To Your Healthy Habits

If you're like most people, you've probably tried to make a habit change at some point in your life, only to find that it's harder than it seems. Maybe it went okay for the first few days or weeks, but over time, you slipped back into your old routine.

Whether it’s a specific goal, New Years Resolutions or getting some news from the Dr that you need to make some changes- we have all had healthy habits in mind that we want to work on. Maybe you have tried a health goal like:

  • Drinking more water

  • Losing weight

  • Eating more vegetables

  • Getting more exercise

  • Reducing stress

Why is it so difficult to stick to our good intentions? The answer may have less to do with willpower and more to do with our mindset. This is good news, because there’s some key mindset shifts we can make to set ourselves up for success the next time you have a healthy habit you want to improve.

The Ultimate New Year Review

The Ultimate New Year Review

As we bring one year to a close, and start fresh with a New Year, it's important to take some time to reflect on the past twelve months. What have we accomplished? What were our highlights and lowlights? What did we learn?

Taking a good, hard look at our lives can be challenging, but it's also incredibly powerful, and worth the few minutes it takes to go through the process- because it truly allows us to see where we've been and where we want to go with a more clear picture. It gives us perspective on our choices and helps us learn from our mistakes. And perhaps most importantly, it allows us to set realistic goals for the year ahead.

I do this with my coaching clients and it’s such a great way to bring in the New Year, I want to share it with you too.
