Happy Spring! Today is the beginning of birds chirping, snow melting and (hopefully) peeling those extra layers off soon. Here are 6 Simple Steps to giving yourself, and your home a fresh, clean start this spring. 

  1. Clean out your fridge - From old leftovers to expired bottles of who knows what. Pull everything out of your fridge, give it a good wash, and be mindful as you put things back inside. Now is a great time to get rid of those sweet treats that you were hiding out over the winter, and make room for all kinds of fresh fruits and veggies soon to be found at your local market. 
  2. On the next sunny afternoon- open up those windows! Stale, dry air that has been circulating around your house all winter can now be aired out. Fresh air, sunshine, and a light breeze is perfect to help get rid of all that recycled air.

It happens to all of us at some point – the dreaded plateau!

Many of us get so fixated on the number on the scale, and that only makes us frustrated, discouraged, and worst of all STUCK. To move forward, we need to take a step back and change our mindset and focus to move forward. 

If you really think about it, is it more important to lose weight, or to be healthier and feel better? For me, I want to look and feel healthy, not just be thinner, so I know a quick fix is not the answer because I don't just want to lose the weight – I want to keep it off.

There are many reasons for hitting a plateau or getting off to a slower start than we'd like. Everyone is different at the rate they lose weight and where they lose it, and it’s really easy to get discouraged.

The month of December is a festive and fun time for many people, but it can also be be a busy and stressful time. For those of us who love when it comes, and love when it goes- here is 5 Ways to Boost your Energy During the Holidays!

  1. Keep exercising- when life gets busy, one of the first things to go is exercise. But without regular exercise our bodys start to feel sluggish. Make time in your day to keep your regular routine. 
  2. Fresh air! When it gets cold outside, its a nice time to stay indoors, sit at the fire and often have some wine and snacks. This is also one of my favorite things to do, but I like to make sure I deserve it in the evening by getting outside for fresh air during the day. A bit of sunshine, fresh air and Vitamin D, and energy levels rise instantly!
