How to Do More of What You Love

Life is short and focusing on our health should not be hard or stressful or difficult or even really very time-consuming. I want you to focus on doing more of what you love instead.

What I would like to work on with you is really identifying how to improve your health and your life with simple things that make the biggest difference.

I’m not going to overhaul your whole life and your diet and your current lifestyle. I’m not going to take away your wine or your chocolate cake. I am going to have you implement little things that can really improve your health.

I want to talk about some of these little things. I want to talk about doing more of what you love because we're all individuals. Every single one of us has different likes and dislikes, different routines and different habits, plans and goals.

If I was to assigning you a set diet, it would not be in your best interest because it's not something you're going to want to or be able to carry forward long-term however when we identify something that works really well for you, you do more of that and that makes you happier and healthier and feel better.

Then that means I have reached my goal. You feeling happier and healthier is total success in my vision.

So lets dive into how you can start to feel happier and healthier and do more of what you love!

Be honest with yourself

If you could create your perfect life, what would it be? Write down the things that you would like to have more time for in your life, like reading, learning a hobby or spending time with people that you enjoy being around.

Reflect on the things you’re currently doing

It helps to make a list of what you currently spend your time on. From working to caring for kids to running errands. Think of it as a roundup of your weekly life. You’ll want to look at this compared to what you want to see more of in your week.

Decide what you can compromise on

You might not be able to change the fact that you have to go to work, but how you get there could be changed. Maybe the stress of driving is wearing you down. Instead of making yourself crazy, try taking the subway or a bus. You could fit in some reading or research while you travel. Could you walk to work? This would be a good time to listen to a podcast or music. Then you get more time to do what you love, and you don’t have to deal with traffic…a win-win.

Stop saying “but”

If you’re always saying you want to do something and adding “but” in there afterward, it’s time to change your way of thinking. Those three little letters are convincing you that you don’t deserve the things you want more of. Mindset is a powerful tool that you can harness to not only feel better but do more of what you want to do.

The old saying: “Where there is a will, there is a way” holds true. Think about the times you use “but” in your daily life and let’s see how you can change that out. You need to get groceries for your family. No one can deny that’s not important. “I want to take that new hot yoga class, but I have to go to the supermarket.” Well, not exactly correct! Our marvelous online world allows you to order all of the things you need and either run by and have it brought out to your car or even better, delivered to your door. Problem solved.

Changing the small things in our lives can make the biggest difference. Making time to do the things you love to do is not selfish, it’s as important as taking care of your family. Eating healthy, moving more, sleeping better can be part of your daily life with only a few small changes.
