Essential Oil Diffuser Blends
You can use Essential Oils in your home for so many things! I use them for cleaning, to make body care products and on an every day basis in my Essential Oil Diffuser!
Sometimes making cleaning or body care products can seem time consuming, but tossing a few oils in your home diffuser just takes seconds! It's one of the most common, and for sure the easiest way to get started using Essential Oils.
The only thing you need to decide is... which oils to start with. I can help you with that!
The absolute fastest and easiest blend is one that is already made. For example, doTERRA has Essential Oil blends that are made of a couple different oils, mixed together for a specific purpose. There are blends of oils called Breathe, Purify, Passion, Motivate, Holiday Joy, Holiday Peace and many others! You are correct if you are guessing that those are blended with certain oils that make you feel motivated, or smell like the holiday season etc. So that's a good place to start.
But the more FUN way to enjoy diffuser blends is to make your own! This way, you can choose your favorite scents and blend them together to make them even more amazing! You can even make a signature scent that you regularly use in your home or your office!
There are a few tricks to making blends, and it does take a bit of practise to find the perfect mix. But its not hard, and its super fun. Here are a couple things to think about to make your diffuser blend.
- How do you want it to make you feel (calm, uplifted, energized etc)?
- Who is the blend for? If for yourself, pick your favorites! If its for a business, or for a gift, keep it a bit more neutral.
- What are your favorite scents?
- Do you like citrus? This would include oils like Orange, Lemon, Lime and Grapefruit.
- How about minty? This would include oils like Spearmint and Peppermint.
- Maybe you like woody? This includes oils like Sandalwood and Cedarwood.
- Do you like it spicy? Spicy oils include Ginger, Cinnamon and Clove.
- Or maybe you like floral? Floral oils include Geranium, Jasmine and Rose.
There are so many different kinds of oils, its a good idea to start with what you are drawn to.
Now, after you have thought about those things, pick out just 2- 3 oils to blend together, and start with only 1-2 drops of each one. Some oils are much stronger than others, and it takes a bit of practise to get your blend 'just right'. Over time and with practise, you may notice things like you want an extra drop or 2 of citrus when using with a woodsy oil, otherwise you don't smell the citrus as much. Then just tweak it!
The properties of Essential Oils have been studies in depth, and we'll go more into chatting about base notes, top notes etc over time. But for the moment, just get started! Trial and error is the best way to find your favorite Essential Oil Diffuser Blend.
I have a few of my favorite Diffuser blends to help you get those creative juices flowing, and to help you get started!

Are you excited to get started? I recommend only using high quality oils, as many of the less expensive oils have additives, and are not 100% pure (we know that health labeling is a big topic right now, and that includes essential oils). To be 100% sure I know what I am using, and that I am getting the therapeutic benefits, I use doTERRA Essential Oils.
